High Build Siloxane Based Direct To Metal Coating

BRITEX® ANTI CORROSIVE COATING is a single component, high build, direct to metal primer cum-finish coating suitable for well prepared steel for mild to moderate corrosive atmosphere.

BRITEX® ANTI CORROSIVE COATING is a low VOC quick drying material for interior and exterior purpose in moderate corrosive environment. The material has good weather ability and moderate abrasion resistance.

Application Methodology

# Surface Preparation
  • Remove oil / grease by washing with liquid detergent, followed by acid wash or by burning.
  • Remove dust, flakes, or other foreign particles by jet or dry air and prepare the surface for application.
  • Preferably achieve a surface profile as per SSPC SP 10 (SA 2½).
# Material Preparation
  • Stir thoroughly BRITEX® ANTI CORROSIVE COATING with a slow speed drill mixer with a spiral type blade at the bottom of stirrer rod till homogeneous mix is obtained.
  • After stirring, wait for the product to settle in order to let entrapped air escape.
# Application of Materia
  • Apply BRITEX® ANTI CORROSIVE COATING on the prepared surface by brush / roller / airless spray gun with standard equipment having pump ratio minimum 30 : 1.
  • Apply BRITEX® ANTI CORROSIVE COATING preferably without thinning, if required,
    add up to 5% BRITEX Thinner for spray application.

Limitations

  • Do not apply BRITEX® ANTI CORROSIVE COATING
  • On surfaces known to, or likely to, suffer from rising dampness, potential osmosis problems or having relative humidity greater than 75 %.
  • On to asphalt, weak or infirm concrete, unmodified sand / cement screeds, PVC tiles or sheets, or substrates known to move substantially e.g. steel walkways.

Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Clean all tools immediately after use with Xylene. Do not allow material to harden.

Health & Safety

  • Avoid contact with skin / eyes, and avoid swallowing.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation and avoid inhalation of vapour.
  • Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye protection.
  • In case of skin contact, rinse with plenty of clean water, then cleanse with soap and water. Do not use solvent to clean the contacted area.
  • In case of eye contact, wash with plenty of clean water and seek medical advice.
  • If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately. Do not induce vomiting.
